Kaylin Masis
Bio
Kaylin was born and raised in San Diego, California. As a San Diegan native, Kaylin grew up riding horses in Bonita, eating burritos at Lolita’s Taco Shop, and studying as a Hilltop High School Honors Student. In 2012, Kaylin left her hometown to study in San Francisco. She graduated from San Francisco State University with Magna Cum Laude honors and as the director of their on-campus Legal Resource Center. After receiving her bachelor’s degree, Kaylin went to the University of California Hastings College of the Law to achieve her mission of becoming the first lawyer in her family. While in law school, Kaylin studied all types of law, but focused her studies on domestic violence law and family law. Kaylin volunteered with Homeless Legal Services and was a member of the “OUTlaw” LGBTQ+ Organization. She was also honored at graduation for her pro bono work during law school.
Kaylin has a diverse background of legal experience including, but not limited to, internships at the Offices of the Santa Clara and San Mateo District Attorneys. In fact, Kaylin thought she wanted to be a District Attorney, until she spent time working at a Family and Children’s nonprofit in Marin County. While there, Kaylin learned how much she can help families by providing high-quality and cost-effective family law assistance. Since then, Kaylin has worked almost exclusively in family law. Kaylin can assist families with all types of family law matters, ranging from domestic violence restraining orders to high-asset dissolution and custody proceedings. She is also a keen trial attorney as she has successfully appeared in Court on several complex criminal and civil hearings as a lawyer and a certified law clerk throughout California.
Kaylin believes that family law is often the most emotional and impactful area of law and requires compassionate, honest, and strong attorneys to successfully advocate for their clients. Kaylin is an attorney who can understand the delicate nature of family law and has second-hand experience with custody battles in her own family. She is personally aware of how the wrong family law attorney can hurt families, and due to this experience, she has made it her mission to help her clients from facing the same challenges that she witnessed.
