Bio

Ben was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky, and attended the University of Kentucky. He did not leave Kentucky until he moved to San Diego to attend law school in 2006.

Ben grew up on his father’s farm, doing the things that most “farm boys” do: Plowing the fields, tending the cattle, and harvesting crops, all while leaving enough time to fish in the pond. Working for his father is what gave Ben the work ethic he has today. Despite the fact that farming was in his blood, Ben decided early on that he would not follow in his father’s footsteps; he simply knew it was not for him. During college, Ben developed a strong interest in the legal system and determined he would become a lawyer.

During law school, Ben studied all facets of the law: estate planning, family law, criminal law, and sports law among others. Initially, he thought he would become a high-powered sports attorney. Obviously, life had other plans. After passing the bar exam, Ben started his own law practice. As a new attorney, a mentor suggested that Ben take family law cases. Intrigued with the idea, that is precisely what he did. Shortly thereafter, he left his solo practice to refine his skills as an associate attorney for a well-known family law attorney; eventually, he ventured on his own again. The rest, as they say, is history.

When not in the office, Ben is with his wife, Torrey, and their three kids: Riley, Ronnie, and Reesey. You can usually find them doing something kid-oriented, whether it is playing dress-up with Riley, playing T-ball with Ronnie, or playing with Reesey, a newborn. When he has free time, which is not too often, Ben enjoys golfing, boating, and hunting.

Practicing Law with Compassion & Empathy

Ben is no stranger to the complex emotions his clients are feeling. When navigating a divorce, people are understandably worried about the future and emotional about the challenges they are facing.

In 2016, Ben lost his friend and business partner to colon cancer. After experiencing this tragedy, Ben felt a lot of the same emotions that his clients feel when facing legal matters involving their loved ones. Ben was not only mourning the loss of his friend and experiencing the pain and sadness of such a tragedy – he was also feeling the fear of what would happen to him, his practice, his finances, and his own family.

In your time of need, you can find comfort in Ben’s representation. He is passionate about serving as a compassionate and trustworthy advocate for individuals and families in need.
